My Story

Bahamia Ulysse, LVN, CMC, CDP

Founded in 2016, Give. Care. Take Care.  has been providing unparalleled geriatric care planning services for countless overwhelmed elders and their families.  Our services are created with both the individual and the caregiver as the center focus.  Our goal is to fully support our clients with their care needs to ensure the best possible outcome for everyone involved.

I am a Licensed Vocational Nurse, Certified Care Manager, Certified Dementia Practioner, and I have been working with the aging population for the majority of my 17 -year long career.  My specialty is in working with clients and caregivers affected by Alzheimer’s/dementia.  I have worked in various clinical settings and have found that patient and family advocacy, both in and outside of the clinical setting, is where my passion is.  As a nurse, I often witnessed the frustrations of family members and caregivers trying to navigate the insurance systems, benefits options, and healthcare interventions.

Those experiences taught me that what you don’t know can cause pain and suffering.

During my time as a bedside nurse, I also learned that caregiving is so much more than just providing care to a loved one who is not well.  It is also about taking care of the individual providing the care too.  I discovered that one of the best ways to accomplish this is by empowering caregivers with the knowledge and support they need to make the best decisions for everyone involved, including themselves.  I help families cope with unexpected changes, learn how to give care, and take care of themselves too.
