My Story

Founded in 2016, Give. Care. Take Care. has been providing the Los Angeles County and Orange County area with unparalleled geriatric care planning services.  Our services are created with both the patient and the caregiver as the center focus.  It is our goal to fully support our clients in their care needs to ensure the best possible outcome is achieved for everyone involved.

I am a Licensed Vocational Nurse and have been working with the elderly for the majority of my 14-year long career. My specialty is in working with Alzheimer's/Dementia affected patients and families.  I have worked in various clinical settings and have found that patient and family advocacy, both in and outside of the clinical setting, is where my passion is.  As a nurse, I often experience the frustrations of family members and caregivers trying to navigate the insurance systems, benefits options, and healthcare interventions. These experiences taught me that what you don't know can truly cause pain and suffering.

During my time as a bedside nurse, I also learned that caregiving is so much more than just providing care to a loved one who is not well.  It is also about taking care of the individual rendering the care simultaneously.  I discovered one of the best ways to accomplish this is by empowering caregivers with the knowledge and support they need to make the best decisions for everyone involved, including themselves.  I help families cope with unexpected changes, learn how to give care and take care too.

Bahamia provided such great support for our family during a really difficult time. We are forever grateful for her.  She was so professional, kind, compassionate and willing to do what it took to get my mother the care she needed.  There were instances that really frustrated me and made me and my siblings feel like we were helpless in finding a solution, but thankfully Bahamia knew exactly how to help us find all the resources we needed.  It felt so good to work with someone who knew what they were doing and could advocate for my mother's needs.

I was lost in the world of caring for an aging parent with dementia.  My father was diagnosed 4 years prior and it was progressing rather quickly as a result of a fall that required surgery.  I was faced with needing to put my father somewhere he could be supervised 24hours a day and I lived out of state. Bahamia not only helped me narrow down my choices, but also guided me on how to negotiate a rate with a home that fit his budget.  My father gets excellent care where he is andI I have peace of mind knowing that he is well taken care of.
